evening mr. president, mr.
toastmaster fellow toastmasters and most welcomed guests.
These
are one of the most desired jobs by children when they are asked what they
want to do when they grow up. Of
course I had similar call when I was 5. I want to be woodcutter. Wood will fly at least
once. When I looked at the statistic
most of the children doesn´t want to
have leadership position.
Among
adult people in Britain most
desirable jobs belong author, lawyer or jurnalist. As
a leadership position you could consider Member of parliament that is 13th and Teacher
that is 10th together with train driver. A leader is someone you choose to follow to a place
you would not go by yourself. So train driver is definitely a
leader! Who would go through these dark tunnels alone anyway!
But
seriously is to be a leader desirable?
For most people no. I am one of the people that when I was
around 18 I decided that I want to learn how to lead people. At the beginning
you think: I will be in the parliament
have fame, money and power and
decide on matters of life and death only to realize that actual
journey is totally different. Leader
is someone that is starting the
movement or matters. Someone in the front.
Someone that screams "Let´s go" but when you turn around you often find there is noone following. Leader is also someone
that makes sure that everyone of
his/her people comes first in crisis situations for example
when getting people to the safety. And often as a leader you find yourself alone in burning house about to fall. So first
in job and last eating? You are crazy!
Why would somebody sane do it you ask. Leader is also someone who inspires you to do more,
learn more, become more and dream more. So do hunger. Hm chicken wings...
Or huge portion of salad for
vegetarians. Do you feel inspired?
But it is more than meets the eye. Something inside you is telling you that it is your life
journey. Life goal. And
something is telling you if not me then
who? And if not now then when? Well maybe sometimes answer will be Emanuelle
can do it tomorrow:)
You
find out in a time that leading others first and most important means leading
yourself first. You have to be role model. Someone that people see that he is learning
more, dreaming more, becoming more and doing more. And when you actually go to dark places you are no more alone because there is at least one other person. Your personal leader. YOU.
